No Need To Be Shy

Well, well…what have we here?

It appears from the swell in site traffic (and positive notes in my inbox) these past few days that I may have created something here that is interesting for you, and others, to read.  Thanks for stopping by, and I’m glad you’re enjoying it…but there’s more I want from you.  I’m one demanding son-of-a-gun, I know…but you’ll get used to it.

I just want each of you to keep in mind what this site is all about.  If you’ve read this page on From the Desk of Damo, then I encourage you to remember these words…

From the Desk of Damo is a metaphor for the things I see, hear, and feel…and I hope you’ll be willing to share your stories as well.

It seems people have taken a liking to my last entry, where I described how I got away from it all and cleared my head (again) with a solo drive to parts only somewhat-known.  While there were many layers to the story, at its basic level, that entry detailed what we commonly know these days as a “road trip.”

Perhaps I should have been a little more straight-forward and said, “Have you ever done something like this before?”  Or, “How do you get away from the grind and clear your head?  Tell me about it!!”  But, hey, gimme a break…I’m still trying to hit my stride with all of this stuff.  The point is, I know some of you out there have similar stories to share, and this site is as much about you as it is about me.

So…no need to be shy.  Feel free to pass along your thoughts/stories/comments/questions.  As I’ve said before, I’ll protect your anonymity (if necessary)…and we’ll get the conversation rolling.  Just e-mail me:  damon AT damonlewis DOT net

On a side-note…I mentioned before that this week I’m heading to Fargo, North Dakota for the 2009 American Legion World Series.  It’s come to my attention that there will be 2 special guests helping “call the action” throughout the weekend, in the form of Jeff Kent and Luis Gonzalez.  I’ll do my best to get some pictures with them, and will hopefully have a couple funny stories to share as well.
